In Switzerland we have 42 official mountain landing sites for airplanes and helicopters. I started in Speck-Fehraltorf/LSZK with 52 liters of 98 unleaded gasoline in the tanks. My flightplan showed a direct flight to Rosenegg-West for a first landing, then to Jungfraujoch, Ebnifluh, Alphubel and Monterosa Satteltole. Refueling was done in Turtmann, on my way back i made a landing on the Petersgrat and also one on Kanderfirn.

The highest mountain landing site in Switzerland is the Monterosa Satteltole, 4’150m/13’615ft (red needle) and is very close to Dufourspitze, the highest Peak in Switzerland. I landed on the Satteltole for the third time, but this time i made a Video with some take-offs and landings up there.

DSC_0473.JPGOn the way to Jungfraujoch the impressive Mittellegi ridge of the Eiger above Grindelwald with its hut.

DSC_0483.JPGHere you see the Jungfaujoch with Spinx approaching from the north. Light northerly winds helped me to cross easily and to land safely on the other side on the mountain landing site Jungfrau.

DSC_0484.JPGIn sight from the landing site Jungfraujoch, 3460m/11’350ft, is the famest Spinx, Wikipedia: The Sphinx Observatory is an astronomical observatory located above the Jungfraujoch in Switzerland. It is named after the Sphinx, a rocky summit on which it is located. At 3,571 m (11,716 ft) above mean sea level, it is one of the highest observatories in the world. Accessible to the public, it is also the second highest observation deck in Switzerland. The mountain top has been tunneled to fit an elevator which ascends to the observatory from the Jungfraujoch railway station, the highest such train station in Europe.The open viewing deck accessible to the public is adjacent to the observatory. It offers views of the Jungfrau, Mönch, and Eiger peaks, all within a few kilometres.

Up to this landing i used 24 liters of fuel. Remember i took off with 52 Liters.

DSC_0499.JPGNow, the next destination is the mountain landing site Alphubel, flying a stright line from Ebnifluh to it i noticed on my right the Dreieckhorn, 3’811m/12’503ft. I see the face of an old man looking me flying by.
